# Training guide

## Welcome

We’re so glad you’re here! Kindu TV is the best place for teachers to find and share videos with the class. All of our videos are ad free and reviewed as safe for the classroom. This guide will take you through the main features and functions of Kindu TV Plus. Get stuck and have a question? Click the circle chat bubble in the bottom right to be connected to a teacher success team member.

## Logging in

Kindu TV allows you to sign up or log in using your email, Google, or Facebook. Kindu TV Plus comes built in with your school single sign on provider. You can log in to Kindu TV by using the ClassLink Launchpad or the ClassLink button on the log in modal.

The homepage is where you will start your day. From here you can access all of the pages that Kindu TV Plus has to offer. If you ever get lost along the way, you can always click “Home” or click the Kindu TV logo at the top to return back here.

### View

The view page is where you will watch all of our ad free videos. From here you can do a handful of things.

At the top, when you click “Get video link” you’ll be able to get the link to share this video. This link will also give you the embed code so you can embed the ad free Kindu video into your LMS assignments.

If you find a new video you like, you can add it to your bookmarks by clicking the “Bookmark” button. You’ll be able to find this video next time you look at your bookmarks.

You can add videos to collections that you have created by clicking the “Add to collection” button. When you add a video to a collection that is visible by your students, the video will become available to your students right away.

Clicking “Share” will bring you to a modal that allows you to share videos via email, Google Classroom, or social media.

“Clip ups” and “Clip downs” is just one of the ways that we optimize our Kindu library of videos. Are you loving a video for the classroom? Clip up! Feel like the video isn’t the highest quality, Clip down.

### Search

Search for only the highest quality learning videos in our library of over 12,000+ videos (and counting). You can search for topics such as “phonics” or “dance” as well as search for channels such as “National Geographic.”

The filters on the left give you options to filter down the search results based on your preferences. You can filter by Duration, Type, Channel, Category or Grade.

### Explore

The explore page is a place where you can discover new and interesting videos for the classroom. You can browse videos from our verified channels as well as popular topics. We highlight collections as you scroll down the page of different topics to browse through.

### Bookmarks

Bookmarking videos allows you to come back to videos that you liked. On this tab you will see a list of all your favorite videos.

### Collections

Collections are a group of videos, usually organized by category, topic or content creator. The Collections page will have a list of all of your collections that you have made. This page will also show you the collections from other channels or users that you have “Starred” and saved for later.

### Add from YouTube

Do you have favorite YouTube videos that you want to bring over into your Kindu TV library? No problem! You can just paste the URL from YouTube and add it right into your bookmarks or collections. Once we verify this video as safe for the classroom, we will make it available so other teachers can find it through the search.

### Community

Community is a place to find collections that teachers in your school love. You can filter by teachers in your grade level and/or teachers in your school. Find a collection that you love? You can “Star” it and bring it into your own personal collections.

The class manager is where you can see if your students are watching the videos that you have added to their collections. The videos are organized in their collections and when you click a collection, you will be able to see who watched the video and if they completed the video!

Class settings will allow you to make changes to the student experience. You can choose to allow students to use the search bar to find more videos in the Kindu TV library or turn it off and just allow them to watch videos in the collections that you have made available.

Students have profile images that are set up when they log in. They are fun little characters that allow students to personalize their experience a bit. If it’s too distracting, you can turn this off and not allow students to change their profile image.

Students can view videos in this distraction free screen. Notice there is no crazy sidebar! The videos that are up next in the collection will continue to play when a student completes the video they are currently watching.

### Collections

With Kindu TV Plus your students have a distraction free way to watch videos that teachers allow. When a student logs in, they will see a list of collections that you have made visible to them. Students can click into the collections and have access to all of the videos that are in that collection. As students complete videos, it will be updated in the Class Manager section of the teacher view.

### Profile

Students can customize their profile by picking different profile images. Teachers can allow or disallow students to make these changes in the Class Manager.
